Home UpgradesWhole House Fan Installation — Temecula Valley
Hot days, cool nights: whole house fan country.
When Menifee cools off after sunset, a whole house fan flushes the day's heat out of your home and attic in minutes, for a fraction of what the AC costs to run. It's the valley's signature comfort upgrade, and one we install and stand behind — sized to your attic at a $75 visit that's credited toward the install.
The valley play
Cool nights are free cooling — if the house is set up to use them.
The valley runs 105° days and 65° nights. A whole-house fan flushes the day's heat after sunset, attic insulation keeps it out, and sealed ducts stop paying to cool the attic. Each one multiplies the others — we start at the cheap end and only move up if the cheap fix doesn't solve it.

Does a whole house fan replace AC?
In our climate, no — July afternoons still need AC. But mornings, evenings, and entire shoulder seasons belong to the fan, and that's most of the year in the valley. The pairing works best run deliberately: fan until mid-morning, AC through the afternoon peak, fan again after sunset.

How it goes
- 1
In-home estimate
The $75 visit is credited toward the install. Fan sizing depends on attic venting — we verify yours can breathe and put the job in writing before any work starts.
- 2
Install
Ceiling cut, mount, dedicated switch or remote — we set the timeline for your attic before we begin.
- 3
The evening test
First cool evening, open two windows, flip it on, feel the whole house exhale.
Questions we hear a lot
How loud are modern whole house fans?
Today's ducted and insulated-damper models run at conversation-friendly noise levels on low — nothing like the old direct-mount fans.
Can you run a whole house fan and AC at the same time?
No — never run them together. The AC seals the house to cool it; the fan pulls outside air through the house and exhausts it via the attic, which fights the AC and can pull conditioned air, and money, straight out the roof. Run one or the other, never both at once.
Do I need attic insulation with a whole house fan?
Not required, but it's the single upgrade that makes a whole house fan work better — proper insulation keeps the flushed-out cool air from re-heating overnight through a hot attic. We install attic insulation too, so if your attic runs thin we'll flag it at the same visit rather than sending you elsewhere.
