My furnace is making a strange noise — should I turn it off?
Grinding or booming warrants shutting it off and calling. Clicking at startup is often normal. When in doubt, call and ask.
Why is my furnace running but not producing heat?
Most often a failed igniter, a dirty flame sensor, or a closed gas valve. All are diagnosable on one visit. If you smell gas, leave the house and call the gas company from outside before calling us.
Why does my furnace turn on and then shut off?
Usually a dirty flame sensor or a clogged filter overheating the unit — both are same-visit fixes. Incorrect gas pressure can also overheat a furnace, short-cycling it and in the worst case failing the heat exchanger. Don't keep resetting a short-cycling furnace; get the cause diagnosed.
How much does it cost to replace a furnace?
Furnace-only replacement costs less than a full AC-and-furnace changeout when the ducts are reusable. We size it to your house and give a written number at the estimate.
