The valley play

Cool nights are free cooling — if the house is set up to use them.

The valley runs 105° days and 65° nights. A whole-house fan flushes the day's heat after sunset, attic insulation keeps it out, and sealed ducts stop paying to cool the attic. Each one multiplies the others — we start at the cheap end and only move up if the cheap fix doesn't solve it.

What you get with Rizzo

  • Whole-home air purifiers and filtration upgrades
  • Duct sealing to cut the dust and allergens that leaky ducts pull in
  • Smart thermostat and ventilation integration

  • Zoning systems so different rooms stop fighting over one thermostat setting

Fast Honest Service

Start with the filter, not the gadget

Half the IAQ results people want come from the right filter, changed on schedule, and sealed ducts. Whole-home purifiers earn their place for allergies, smoke season, and immune-sensitive households — after the basics. We'll tell you which tier your house needs.

Whole-house path

How it goes

  1. 1

    Air & duct assessment

What's in your air and where it's getting in — no fear-mongering, just the readout.

  2. 2

    Right-sized fix

Sometimes it's a higher-MERV filter swap. Sometimes it's duct sealing. We start at the cheap end and only move up if the cheap fix doesn't solve it.

Questions we hear a lot

How often should I replace my air filter?

Every 3 months for most homes — more often with pets, allergies, or during Southern California fire season, when a cheap filter can load up with smoke particulate in weeks instead of months. A clogged filter also makes your AC work harder, so it's a comfort issue and a bill issue both.

Do air purifiers help with allergies?

Yes, for airborne allergens like pollen and dust — a whole-home purifier filters the air every time your system runs, which is more consistent than a portable unit in one room. It won't fix surface allergens like pet dander on furniture, so we'll ask about your specific triggers before recommending a tier.

What's the difference between a media filter and an air scrubber?

A media filter is a thicker, higher-capacity filter that sits in your system and catches more than a standard one-inch filter, with less airflow restriction. An air scrubber treats the air actively as it passes through — built for smoke season or a household with real allergy or immune concerns. Most homes start with the media filter; we'll tell you if you need both.

Do zoning systems work with a smart thermostat?

Yes — that's usually the point. A zoning system splits your ductwork so different areas run on their own schedule, and smart thermostats are how you control each zone. We size and install both together, or add either one to a system that already has the other.
